The Biophysics group, together with the group of Axel Griesmaier at the Institute of Physics (Electronics Laboratory and Special Equipment Development), will receive funding through the University of Stuttgart’s Terra incognita program , which supports visionary research ideas aimed at opening new scientific directions beyond established approaches.
The project explores the potential of biological systems for future information-processing technologies, focusing on bio-inspired memristive systems. By combining expertise in biophysics, electronics, and physics, the research aims to uncover new principles for adaptive and energy-efficient computing approaches inspired by biological materials.
